MIX digital and physical to create award-winning experiences with spatial tracking, 3D-modelled environments, industrial-designed phone case, and so much more. We delivered flagship in-store experiences around the world.
Samsung KX
London, United Kingdom
Global agency Cheil Worldwide was creating an experience-based store for Samsung, “Samsung KX”. It is the first of its kind, with curved LED screen as the centerpiece. They engaged us to design and develop a new digital graffiti experience for this screen incorporating their new Galaxy S10 phones.
We developed a 3D painting software for life-size 3D environments based on real locations around London. These came to life with our animations to reset the experience for new customers. We built a phone application for their S10 phone to use as a customer’s tool for painting, designed a phone case to look like a spray can that integrates the real-time motion tracking hardware, and invented the physical push-button nozzle system, as well as sound effects for can shake and spray simulation. We integrated a real-time motion tracking system to track each device in front of the screen at the store. Then we installed it all into the store’s unique curved LED panel screen.

Galaxy Harajuku
Tokyo, Japan
The success of the London projects led to the launch of another location in Tokyo. Samsung set their sights on expanding the project to outdoor venues. This challenged us to redesign the system in just over a month with upgraded spatial tracking for sunlight, including configuring for a unique L-shaped LED panel screen in a much smaller area and updating spray can style phone case.
Samsung El Corte Inglés
Valencia, Spain
While in Tokyo we learned we had another location opening just over a month later. In Valencia, we worked with a local graffiti artist to design a new 3D environment. This was the featured experience at the launch of the store with the VP of Samsung mobile attending. Going into our third location we were able to anticipate potential roadblocks during installation and plan/design to solve them. I was challenged with having to hire and onboard a new software engineer to travel with me and customize the software for each location on-site during installation.
